I'm so happy that I get to tag this fluff instead of vent. I think that we can all learn a little bit from children.Atlas is a 10 month old 70 pound German Shepherd. Although I don't like it, sometimes, kids are afraid of him. If kids aren't afraid of him, parents might not want their children interacting with him. Again, although I am not a huge fan, I understand. Because he's young, he can be hyper. He has great bite inhibition, but at times, he can be a little less than careful when we are playing keepaway. I am of the firm belief that other people's children are not socialization tools for my dog. Therefore, his interaction with children has been limited.Yesterday, my friend brought her 9 year old son over. They're staying with me for a little while, so naturally, they meet Atlas. Atlas is crazy excited to meet her son. Before I know it, they're wrestling and playing. Her 9 year old is playing keepaway, tossing the ball around, rolling around on the ground next to him with not a single fear. He's laughing and I am, of course, supervising. They play for 40 minutes straight as he takes balls from his mouth (properly of course) and wrestles him. They're a match made in heaven.Atlas is careful and very excited, but is appropriate with this child although they are wrestling. I am so proud and this is an amazing development. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rYzmO3
