[Help] Roommate Allergic to Dog

My fiancé and I room with someone who is allergic to our dog. We signed a year lease, but after being in the apartment for a month, he's been home maybe five times. Apparently it's because he's allergic to our dog. He knew we'd have a dog before we moved, he's met the dog and knows the dog is a HUGE part of our life. Before we moved in, he told me about the allergy but assured me that it would be okay so long as the dog wasn't allowed on the furniture. From what he's been telling other people though, he can't even handle the dog being in the house at all. Getting rid of the dog isn't an option. He's my ESA and I can not function in high stress situations without him to keep me calm. Even if that wasn't the case, he's our baby and we adore him.
