I just got a new puppy (I have two older dogs as well) and as I'm trying to socialize him and looking into possible agility courses/training/etc for when he is older, I am realizing just how dog unfriendly my town is, and its actually really frustrating. We have two small lakes with walking paths around them and one is open to dogs (about 2 miles) while the other (which is a longer more interesting walk), along with any other parks in town, do not allow dogs. I looked on the towns website and it listed that lake, and one other campground as dog friendly. That's it.There are three cafes in town that have outdoor seating where you could sit with your dog, but those are limited in their food choices and if you are alone with your dog you have to leave it outside while you order etc. There is also a new dog park going up, but I'm also a bit concerened about that since there were is very little advertising and they don't seem to have any sort of group running it. I'm worried that they are just going to let any dog in regardless of vaccine history/their ability to interact with other dogs, and if that's the case I'm not sure I want to take my new pup there.Overall its just very frustrating. Our town is extremely active and a large portion of the town owns dogs, yet there are no accommodations made for them and very few places for them to go. Koda is great with the one lake we are allowed to walk and once he is old enough we will likely drive to a nearby town for agility etc. but I just wish there were more opportunities for him to do things nearby. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2roordJ
