Hello, /r/dogWithin the last couple of weeks, I've noticed that my 7 month old yellow lab would "sit lazy" and I could hear his hip popping when he would sit down. He didn't seem to be in pain but I could tell something was off. We decided to take him to the vet to get it checked out and then he got some x-rays today and was told that we need to move forward with Femoral Head Ostectomy (to the tune of $850 dollars). Here are my questions:What is the cost like in your area? Is this something I should shop around for? I feel weird "getting a second opinion" for my fur child. My vet didn't seem to think that there was any non-surgical alternative and that we needed to move forward with the surgery or he would be in pain the rest of his life. Has anyone had a different experience?Does anyone have a success story they'd like to share with me?I have attached Moose's x-ray for reference if you'd like to check it out.Thank you everyone in advance.http://ift.tt/2rCVWvS via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2scg9FY
