[help] My dog got off her leash and possibly fought with neighbors dog

I am extremely upset right now and would love advice how to proceed.My dog got off her leash accidentally tonight and ran up to my neighbors two small dogs. She growled at one and then appeared to be growling and barking aggressively at the other while I was running over.He picked that one up and he was spinning around trying to get it away from my dog, and I saw her snap at it. I got her leash and pulled her away and apologized. She's 40lbs and so at least twice the size. He said "its fine, its fine" but as I turned and walked down the block I saw him checking on his dog. I came back down to ask him if the check up was okay or if his dog was hurt but he was gone.Obviously I'm going to seek more training and a better harness. My plan for now is to find him outside (we live in an apt complex) and ask him if his dog was okay or if he noticed any injuries. I'm a wreck right now imagining being forced to put my dog down or something because she's my world. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rdmS43
