[Discussion]Question about dog food quality and cooking your own food.

Have any of you guys had problems with puppy food causing soft stools and vomiting? I have a 6 month old mini schnauzer who in the past month has caught giardia (which thankfully is cured now), soft stools, and random bouts of vomiting. I am wondering if possibly it could be from a bad batch of dog food. He started getting sick less than a week after i opened this new bag of dog food. It's the same stuff he has been eating for 4 months and he has been good until this last month. I won't name the brand because I don't want to risk my post being removed but it's seemingly high quality, not cheap dog food. When he got sick the vet prescribed canned food which he wouldn't touch so I cooked him a few meals and wala he was feeling better. It took about a week after we got the giardia medicine for him to fully recover. Now it has been a couple weeks since and his stools are either really hard or really soft. A lot fo the time he poops like one tiny hard rock and that's it. Other times he has a really healthy looking poop then a softie the next time. It was never like this before. I am wondering if he could be having an allergic reaction to his food or if it is a bad batch. Should I cook his own food? I know a lot of people do and it seems really easy to do but I don't want to get the portions screwed up. Any feedback with your experiences or advice would be awesome thanks. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rJ1UeN
