Our 3 yo corgi/beagle mix started marking inside when my wife was pregnant and showing. Since then, our baby is almost a year, he's pretty consistently continued marking things in the house. At our old apartment, it was usually new things - plastic bags, my mom's toothbrush. Since we've moved into our new house, with a fenced yard, and had a baby, he's been mostly marking baby things - her play mat, toys, etc. This morning he got onto the table and peed on my wife's ipad and journal project she'd been working on last night. He's marked something about once a month, sometimes even twice a week, but sometimes he's gone several months without an incident. I've tried to figure out a pattern to when he does it, but still cannot.I've never caught him in the act, so I try not to freak out at him when I find it. I just put him outside or in the crate, clean it up with enzyme cleaner, feel defeated, and worry about when it will happen again. At first I figured it was just a phase, and that he'd stop once all the chaos of moving out of state and having a baby settled down. Then I figured it was because he wasn't getting enough walks. I'd been relying on putting him outside, and figured he needed more walks. So since the last incident last week, I've walked him twice a day and taken him to the dog park once. I walked him this morning before he peed on the table. Now I figure it's because he's jealous of my wife's attention and bored at our new house without the many dog friends he had to play with at our old apartment. My wife is a resident physician, so between the baby and her job, she doesn't have time for pretty much anything. But I can't change either of those things. I've also tried re-crate training him. He's outside right now, where he'll probably stay for the rest of the day.I figure the answer I'm going to get from here is that I need to take him on more frequent and longer walks/go to the dog park even more frequently. When I was taking him to the dog park more frequently, he started limping. I have time to take him on longer walks since I stay at home with the baby now, but I'm worried about what to do when I go back to work. Not to mention, the baby is getting more difficult to bring to the dog park and on long walks.Relatedly (probably), whenever we have someone else watch him at their house, he pees and poops in their house also.Has anyone had a similar experience and have any advice? I'm feeling pretty defeated. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2qU3aHT
