[Help] Brought home a rescue and current dog is pretty ok, until bed time.

Charlie - The mini aussie with the energy of 10000 suns. Caffrey - The adorable and sweet rescue pup, brought home the day before yesterday.Charlie has got some anxiety issues and is VERY vocal about it. He squeaks. CONSTANTLY. This is a whole other thing that we are trying to work on (will take advice!). He's a year and a bit and crazy crazy smart.Caffrey is just 100% chill - so far and somewhere in the 7-8 month range.During the day, when outside, they get along perfectly. Playing just like dogs should play, no issues. When we come inside, there has been a few grumbles about which toys belongs to who, but nothing unreasonable so far.Generally, the routine is that I will go to bed about an hour before my boyfriend. Usually Charlie would come and hang out on the bed till BF comes to bed, then Charlie goes to the rug next to the bed, or his bed a little further away. The first night, Caffrey joined me for bed time cuddles, and when Charlie and BF came to bed, Caffrey went to the floor, and Charlie took his turn to cuddle. Caffrey's bed is about 8 feet away from Charlies, both on the same side of the bed. After some time (not sure, was sleeping) Charlie started to squeak and pace. We took him outside to potty and went back to bed. A bit later, started squeaking and pacing again. Tried to bring him in the bed, he just squeaked more. Eventually, BF and Charlie slept on the couch so one of us could get up and go to work the next day.Last night, similar, only this time Charlie came to bed with me, and Caffrey came later. Minutes pass and the squeaking starts, followed by pacing. We moved Charlies bed to the other side of the big bed (one dog on either side of the bed) and after a long while, eventually calmed down enough for everyone to sleep.Does anyone have advice on how to make this transition period easier for Charlie (and us) when it comes to bed time. Any other advice to introducing a second dog to a first with anxiety issues would be great too.To add to the fun, my bf is leaving for several weeks to leave the transition period to me! :) via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rgG7tv
