[help] Crash introduction of two dogs, next steps?

hi guys, just wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation before/had any advice to offer. So our neighbour had a bit of a tragedy, she found her grandmother dead yesterday, and being heavily pregnant and traumatized couldn't reasonably take ownership of George the three year old rescue spaniel that her grandmother had adopted three weeks prior. Long story short he was dropped off at ours around 9 last night. He's a sweet thing, desperate for attention and severely underweight from his time before he was rescued. Now we already have a dog, Dougie, who's good with other dogs, reasonably well trained and very playful. The intro, given the timescales involved, wasn't textbook, it had to be made in our house late at night because the neighbours had to go and handle the arrangements and comfort other family members. We got George's crate set up and brought in his effects and then went straight on a walk. The walk was fine, both kept on long leads, dougie stopping to hump George every few metres, George stood there and took it like a champ. No growls on walk but when Dougie tries to assert his dominance in the house there's been a couple. Honestly it's gone as well as could be expected but as it's only day one really and they were introduced so suddenly I was just wondering if someone who'd been in a similar position could give us an idea of what we should expect/watch out for? via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2qGir2T
