[Help] Crate sizes be cray

My (13lb, thin and tall-ish) dog looks stupidly small in a standard 24" crate but can't sit all the way up in a 22" crate. He curls up and only takes up half the depth in either. He's had the 24" crate for a while but rarely goes in there on his own. He does go in his (much smaller) Sherpa carrier all the time. Does that mean he wants a smaller crate? Everywhere says the crate should have a couple inches' clearance in every direction but then the dimensions of the 22" crate would make absolutely no sense. (Except maybe for a dachsund?) Does it matter? I would prefer to use the 22" crate because it fits in a suitcase, but I don't wanna be torturing the little guy. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rzAK8P
