So basically as the titles says. I've wanted a dog my whole life and I now have the opportunity and time to do so. Here's a little bit of my situation: I'm 22 living at home with parents and recently left university, I work part time and mostly nights (usually 5-10 a couple of days a week, the days aren't set in stone and I usually work different days each week) though I will be looking for a part time job on the next couple of months. But for now settling the new addition in and making sure they are as comfortable as possible shouldn't be a problem. My father works shifts on a 3 week basis (different time of the day in a cycle of 3 weeks) so he would be here at alternating times, while my mother works the standard 9-5. One of the greatest problems I'm facing is that whole researching breeds and possible adoptees is that many require someone to be around the house a fair amount (not leaving the dog for more than four hours at a time) which is a little bit of a problem as due to my dad working shifts he will be here most of the time but some of that will be spent sleeping in the day and preparing for work that night. How worried should I be about this aspect of adoption requirements? Basically I'm just looking for some general advice as I'm new to this whole thing and I expected it to not be easy, however I'm feeling out of my depth and need some proper information from those who've been through this before. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rmSqoa
