[Help] Going backwards after adoption: Quarantine + Cone/Spay

This is our second rescue. First is a 5.5yo 25# terrier mix. Second one was 25# and about 3 months old when we adopted her. Both are females. Second one is a hound something mix. They were decent and tolerated each other prior to the spay but now with the cone and all the attention we have been giving the little one, and the little one not being able to play, we are freaking out because the older one seems not happy. We are worried about fighting and dominance issues. Our vet (who we love and is a serial rescue adopter) was all calm and easygoing when she said 'they will figure it out eventually'...Will they? I wanted a pup thinking the older one could assert her dominance while the pup was young. Now I'm getting worried and wife is freaking out that there will be a blood bath the day the cone comes off and they can act like fools again.Any tips/pointers/ideas? Just tire the crap out of the puppy so she sleeps? It gets to be a vicious cycle --pup is done and lays down, then older one starts to pick at the pup, then pup gets back up but older one is tired and starts to get nasty... At least most of pup's baby teeth are gone now. Those things are sharp! Thanks for any words of encouragement or tips!EDIT: Forgot about the title LOL. So pup was in quarantine for a week, then on transport, then in quarantine for another week, then two weeks at home until spay, now we are on day 8 of 14 in the cone. So what was a good thing developing (house training, manners, playing nice with her sister, etc.) seems like now pup has so much pent up energy she's crazy all the time! And she's gone (never twice in same spot) a couple times in the house because she's not signaling she needs to go out like before. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rwwjKi
