Sort of witnesses a fight/attack [vent]

Sorry this is a bit longI was walking my dog today and in the distance (large open area of woods and meadows) I saw a local dog walker I have met before and decided to hang back a little to avoid her. The reasons for this are because 1. she can be a bit of a chatterbox and I was having a nice quiet walk and 2. she mostly walks Greyhounds which are sometimes not good with my small dog. The last time I saw her she had a new Greyhound with her that was wearing a muzzle and she said she wasn't sure if he was good with small dogs. I let mine approach with both dogs on leads and the Greyhound tried to attack, unsuccessfully of course, but I didn't feel like the stress of having to keep mine away from him today.Anyway we were further up the hill where I saw her go through the gateway into the lower field, shortly after I saw a man with a Golden Retriever and a small black dog follow through. Then the screaming started.I couldn't see what was happening but could hear lots of dog cries. My dog started to run down the hill to see what was happening, I ran after him and called him back to me and put him on a lead. Next thing I know a Black Labrador ran passed us trailing his lead. I tried to coax him over so I could try to find his owner but he was obviously scared from the fight and wouldn't come near me. I held back but kept him in sight and tried to see his owner. I asked a man coming up and he called back to the dog walker lady who said "oh he's with me" but she didn't seem the least bit concerned that he had run away. She called him back but when he got to her the Greyhound she had on the lead went for him and he nearly ran again. As I passed through the gate I saw the man with the Golden Retriever and small dog (which turned out to be a 4 month old Black Labrador puppy) sat on the grass. The man had blood on his hands. I asked him if the puppy was ok and he said he thought she had bitten her tongue as he couldn't find anywhere else that the blood would be coming from. I sat with him for a minute and the puppy threw herself on my lap and was happy to meet my dog and honestly seemed completely unfazed, which was great. I walked with the man talking for a while and our dogs trotted along together, then said goodbye. Thankfully it seems no damage was done, the dog walker gave him her number just in case and it seemed the humans were more shaken than the dogs. But I think I will steer clear of that lady and her dogs where possible from now on and just to clarify none of her dogs had muzzles on today.Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to share. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rV2RA0
