I live/own a condo. I have a 13 year old dog and have made friends with several residents who have dogs or love dogs. I have one neighbor who has a dog (a westie about 12 years old). We have been neighbors for a few years. She has asked me a couple of times to walk her dog in the evening because she's either working late or is attending the company a xmas party immediately after work. I don't mind doing this, it's one time. Plus, recently while contractors were working in my home she kept my dog for a couple of hours while I went to an appointment (and she was disrespectful to my dog so I really don't want her watching her again). Now, she has asked me to take care of her dog for four days. We're now on the fourth day and I have been fuming. I think she is taking advantage of me and the situation. I don't expect to ever take time away from home without either taking my dog with me or hiring a pet sitter. I wouldn't expect anyone to pet sit for free. However, she never mentioned paying me. I think she thinks because she's now taken care of my dog for a couple of hours we're pet sitting for each other for free. How, can I convey to this neighbor, this will not continue?Leave her a note letting her know I don't mind pet sitting for one walk in the evening but will not do anymore pet sitting for days.Or I could leave her an invoice for services rendered (I think $20 per visit is the norm in the pet sitting business).Or I could let it go and just say no the next time she asks. What would be best? I don't want to create any animosity as we're neighbors but I'm at a loss as to what I should do and mad as hell that she thinks this is ok. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rz8eT2
