Hello, /r/dogs, I have a sad story to tell. Let's take a trip in the way back machine to the early 2000's.Around 2003-04 (I was 14-15 at the time), my mom and I were going home in the afternoon when an SUV in front of us ran over a dog. She got up, walked away, and fell into a ditch. Man of action that I am, I had my mom stop the car and I the dog out of the ditch and we took her to a vet. The driver of the SUV, feeling somewhat guilty, followed us.When we arrived, we were told that someone had to put money down for the dog's care, and that would also be an assumption of ownership. My mom and the SUV driver essentially acted like a suicidal person in a quick draw duel; neither one of them reached for their wallet.I dropped $40 on the table."She licked me on the way over, mom. She's mine."Flash forward a couple years. We're living in Las Vegas now, renting a home from a friend of my mom while she is in England on a work visa. What was supposed to be 12 months turned into 9, she was coming back and we had to find our own place.Unfortunately, Las Vegas was in the middle of a housing boom (it being 2006 and all), and the only place we could find to live was an apartment that didn't allow pets. My mom asked the owner of the house if she would be willing to take care of our dog (a stipulation of our rent while she was in England was that we took care of her dog, Kai, and we did it with no fuss or anything, even making sure her 'special diet' was followed exactly). So, due to shitty circumstances, we had no choice but to give my dog up to the Las Vegas SPCA. I heard that she got adopted within a week (she was a good dog). So, all that said, I'm sort of hoping that maybe someone here might have adopted her. It must have been around 2006, no later than 2007. Her name was Blondie, about 3 years old at the time. She was a mutt but somewhat resembled an Irish setter, with white fur and some blonde highlights near her eyes.I know it's been a decade and she likely still is not alive, but part of me is rather curious. I hope she was adopted by a good family. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rGhjwm
