Introduction1) Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?Yes, it will be my first own dog. I had a family dog for 3 years, but never took care of him.2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?I don't have a preference, but would like a Dachshund, which may be difficult to find in a shelter.3) Describe your ideal dog.A small, very friendly dog, that can either go to a park with me and have a great day, or stay at home to watch some movies with me.4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?Dachshund (they look amazing, love them), Jack Russel Terrier (love the size and attitude, but WAY too much energy), French Bull Dog (Cool chilled attitude, but they drool a lot)5) What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?Poop outside, not chew on my sneakers, catch and to watch TV. Oh, and to listen to Kanye West.Care Commitments6) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?I plan on patting him every night, playing for 30 minutes.7) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?I plan o taking him on a walk in the morning for 20 minutes, and 15 minutes at night. On the weekends, going to a park or to take a walk.8) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?I prefer not having to brush him, I could groom him every weekend.Personal Preferences9) What size dog are you looking for?Small to medium.10) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?Minimum shedding, minimum barking and absolutely no slobber.11) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?It is not very important.
