So here I am with my boy Snoopy (beaglexboxer AKA lovable mutt) who weighs in about 61lbs. I had a yellow lab as well but had to put him down 2 years ago. My life has become somewhat normal again and wanting to add a second dog again. I miss having a big dog in the house. Anyways I want to adopt or at least I prefer to adopt but my biggest concern with adopting is I was not the one to train the dog and it wasn't brought up with Snoopy so I want to avoid any conflicts which can be corrected no doubt for the most part but obviously it worries me. Turns out someone on y street has this giant horse named Waldo who is 4 years old and they need to rehome. I have only met Waldo twice and Snoopy got along with him fine both times at the park. Reading up on the breed Waldo seems to fit the general characteristics of being an oversized gentle giant. The biggest thing for me is 4 years...i guess it sounds selfish but I would be lucky to get 4 years if hes only expected to live until 8 at the most. This is gonig to sound even more Selfish but Snoopy is 8 and I really don't think he will be around past 4 years and I think I would lose it if I lost two dogs so close together. Without Snoopy I couldn't of gotten over my lab's passing. So yeah just looking for some eprsonal reference on the matter. Online seems to vary between 8 and 10 and unhealthy danes (Waldo is medication free) around 5-6. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2sb7kix
