[Help] 7 mo. old puppy won't stop crying at night--should I let him cry it out?

I got a 7 month old Lhasatese this weekend (Sunday). He seems to be house-trained or almost house-trained (it could just be adjusting), and he doesn't mind his crate during the day (he goes in and out of it at will). However, during night-time he will cry and move around. I have to wake up 2 or 3 times a night to let him out, and he does pee most of the time. The thing is, though, is that I stop feeding and watering him after 5 PM, and I take him out at least two times before I got to bed. Most of the time, he pees before bedtime. So, when he cries at night, is the pee he eliminates pee he could actually hold, but he's just doing it for attention? When I let him out, it's always a struggle to get his harness on him because I think he thinks it's play-time. Or can he really not hold it because he's still adjusting to a new environment? If I do keep letting him out, isn't that reinforcing that he can go whenever he wants, instead of having him hold his bladder?Any help would be appreciated.EDIT: His crate is at the foot of my bed. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2qMu6s1
