[Help] Crossing into the US with a 4 m/o puppy

I need some travel advice! I had done a search online for the requirements and of course misread the website regarding vaccinations! Apparently Canada requires that you have had a rabies vaccination prior to entering the country, dates do not matter. However, the US requires that the rabies vaccination be administered 30 days prior to crossing the border.... My puppy was vaccinated today and I want to cross this week for a day trip.A quick search has told me they are fairly lax and sometimes don't even check the paperwork but I want to be fully prepared in case I get turned away.
