Hey guys! So I have two stray dogs ( no idea what breeds, one of them was in my neighborhood wandering for a while so I took her in and the other is from a local dog shelter, so no history on both of them). They are very high energy dogs and I try to walk them every day before I go to work as well as 1 hour of play time every day after I get home from work. The problem is: the only time I get to walk them is before work so I have to wake up around 5 am so there's enough time for them to exercise, for me to get home, shower and then head off to work; but they get so excited that they bark and yelp and literally scream very loudly when they see me getting their leashes. I hate being an inconvenience to my neighbours and my housemates because of the noise they make out of excitement so early in the morning, but I dont really have any other time to exercise them and they will be loud any time I reach for the leash cause they know we'll go for a run. So, my question is: how do I get them to be calm and relaxed before going for a run? They get so excited I can't even put the leash on them cause they are jumping and running and barking, this happens every single day and I'm really tired of trying to get them to be quiet. sometimes I even consider not exercising them early in the morning cause it's such a difficult task to get done, but I don't really have any other avaliable time and it'd mean they wouldnt be getting any exercise at all! Please help, I'm at a loss on how to keep them calm before walks! Thanks in advance! via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2ss4LWx
