[help] is it safe for my dog to swim in a pool?

My boyfriends parents have an in ground pool that they treat with chlorine, like any other pool. We found out today that our dog loves it, but I'm worried about the chemicals. When he swims he bites at the water and the splashes he's making, and I'm sure he's consuming the water. Do we need to bathe him after he's been swimming?
