[Help] Just put down a deposit on a Shiloh Shepherd -- never had a dog this large before, what do?

Hey all,I just put down a deposit on a puppy to serve as a companion for my aging, super-anxious Springer Spaniel. It was suggested to us by a vet that we consider a companion that might help him stay calm in social situations. Not sure how that's going to work, but since he's fine with other dogs IN the home I kinda figured "why not, I love dogs."Anyway, that isn't the point. I've always wanted a shepherd, but I've never /had/ a shepherd. So I have NO idea what I'm doing. Do you guys have any general advice/tips on how to handle a Shepherd? It's worth noting that it's a Shiloh Shepherd, which are based off the DDR German Shepherds. Much different from the American side of the breed. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2sQTbne
