[Help] My brother in law and his husband are getting a dog that I don't think is a good match for them

My brother in law and his husband are awesome people. They have a little Jack Russell terrier, Ella. Their pug mix recently ran away and has been gone for 3 months now. They've made every effort to find him, but we all think someone has taken him in as their own. This left Ella pretty alone without her brother. They want to get another dog. I think this is a good idea. However, they want to get a Siberian husky. We live in the south, where it can easily reach a humid 100*F in the summer. They leave the dogs outside in the big backyard all day, and take them inside the house in a crate at night. The only shelter or shade outside is a dog igloo on the back porch. They have food and water, of course. I'm concerned that this isn't a good idea. I have a husky mix of my own, and I know their double coat of fur is very thick. Hell, they're bred for a winter climate. I know lots of people in hot areas that have huskies, but they allow these dogs inside or make other arrangements to beat the heat. This dog won't be allowed inside except for the time it will be crated at night.I don't think that the couple plans to make any accommodations. So I'm wondering if the dog will be okay in the environment they will provide. Am I worrying too much? Or is a husky a bad match for them? If my gut is right, I'm going to try to talk to them about it. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rw5EPG
