[Help] A stray pitbull wandered into my yard about a week ago, having some trouble rehoming him. Is anybody familiar with Southern California rescues?

My roommates and I have taken in a stray pit that just kinda wandered into our yard. He's honestly the sweetest little guy, but we have dogs already and can't keep him. We don't want to take him to a shelter because well, that doesn't work out well for the breed usually. We're hesitant to find the owners because he looks like he's been abused (with agreement from a vet).Does anybody know of any rescues or foster organizations that take in strays to rehome? I've tried contacting several but they all only take in dogs from shelters.
