I live in a rural area and we have no animal control. I've seen this brindle bully breed dog running around a few times and had no idea to whom she belonged. This morning I saw her lying in the ditch. At first I thought she was dead but when I stopped and went to her, she lifted her head. She started trying to pull herself up into the road so I parked my car with the flashers on where someone couldn't run over her. She growled when I got too close so I wasn't sure what to do. It was obvious her hip and/or pelvis were broken.I started calling people I know around the area to try to find her owners. I was just about to go back to my house for a muzzle so I could try to muzzle her and get her to a vet when two teenage boys showed up and said she was theirs. She let them pick her up and put her in their truck and they took off with her. I tried to talk to them, see if they were going to take her to a vet, ask them how they plan to keep this from happening again. Their response - "She's been hit 4 times. She'll be fine."WTF is wrong with people? Why would you let your dog run loose to get hit by a car even once let alone FOUR TIMES? Why would you not take it to a vet? And what asshole hit her and then just kept driving?Here's a pic of her trying to crawl up into the road.
