[HELP] Dog owners with anxious rescues, what are some things you have done to manage your dogs anxiety?

My parents dog Sandy is the epitome of a rescue. She was rescued the day before she was set to be euthanized and has been an integral part of the family ever since. She has a forever home with a substantial yard, daily walks, lots of tummy rubs and a comfy spot wherever she wants to be. We adore her. She's an extremely loving and happy dog when you'd expect like when a room is quiet, taking walks, playing with other dogs and so on. However there is always looming anxiety in her. She flinches as the smallest noise, hides when people are making noise in the other room, started sleeping under the bed (it's a squeeze to get under there!) and occasionally doesn't want to come inside. We can't take her in the car to go anywhere because it's not worth how scared she gets.I relate to her anxiety and tell her she's my spirit animal. We love her so much and will do anything to make her feel comfortable. I would love any recommendations you may have! Here are some things we've tried: -Thunder shirt (putting it on is scary for her) -put together a covered shelter do her to go to to feel safe and protected -medication (had helped a little in the past and the vet just added trazadone to the Prozac) -putting her outside or in another room while chores are done -toys (zero interest)I know this is typical of rescues especially when there was most likely a lot of abuse in the past. We are open to suggestions! Thanks in advance! via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rR9zXR
