[Vent] "Service" Dogs

I live in a little town where every friday the have a little get together with the community. There's wine, stores stay open late, snacks, music, the whole community basically comes together for 2 hours and hangs out in the summer.I took my dog with me and walked downtown. He's good on leash with no distractions, but we don't have many opportunities to practice distractions, so I always try to bring him down. We get practice with kids running up and petting, people, etc. All are generally fine, although he is still quite leash reactive to other dogs. I know this, and manage by feeding him a stream of treats, going wide around other dogs, etc. It's great training for him, and I already see some improvement after the first few weeks of taking him.Anyway, fast forward to this Friday. I'm on the edges of the party, circling, working on impulse control and loose leash walking, when these two maniac huskies on leads with service dog vests on come out of a store and promptly try to rip my dog's head off.My dog, who got bit by a loose Chihuahua and did nothing but stare at it, felt the need to step in front of me and growl at these two dogs who were clearly trying to go for the jugular. These two women dragged their dogs into the coffee shop, bought their coffee, and while I sat outside and ate a cupcake, I watched them sit on the couch and allow their service dogs to jump up on the couch, pace at the end of their leash, etc.Suuuuper annoying all around.Sorry for the rant. Just bitter that people feel their special snowflake is so important that they can break the rules while my clearly superior special snowflake doesn't!Doggo tax: http://ift.tt/2qU9AGe via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rpQ73N
