Sura is an amazing food finder. Zipped bags, counters, plastic boxes are no match for her spaniel enthusiasm.Yesterday my friend gave me a really nice, 88% cacao organic chocolate bar - I'm sure you can see where this is going.Forgot about the bar in my backpack when I left to take out trash. Came back to a chocolate mouthed dog and a ripped up foil wrapper - I'm grateful I was coming right back and that she didn't hide it.Cue me panicking a bit and sending the clueless boyfriend out to get hydrogen peroxide. He's not a dog person and had no idea until it was all over why I was so rushed. I fed Sura a small handful of kibble as well, to make throwing it up a bit easier.Thankfully he was able to find an open pharmacy, and I was able to give Sura the first dose only 20 minutes after eating the chocolate. We went out for a walk and she puked pretty much as soon as we stepped outside.No ill effects, just a very guilty owner who got a good scolding from my mentor.New house rules: Always have a full bottle of hydrogen peroxide on hand Never bring in dark chocolate unless it's eaten immediately via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2rRNVTV
