There's a long trail in my area that's roughly 12km long. It's a great trail for a walk and always busy in the summer with people walking and with their dogs, some on or off leash. My (husky/shep/brittany mix) dog is not aggressive, I work part-time at a dog day care and she's very socialized. So she's always off-leash when we walk there, as she's great off leash and never strays too far away from me, and wants to play and is friendly with any dog she encounters.Today we were there at a busy time and it's the second time we've seen this man and his aggressive Doberman. The first time, a few months ago, he yelled to get my dog on a leash as soon as he noticed me, as his dog is obviously aggressive. The dog was on leash and seemed to want to attack my dog from even quite a distance away. Luckily my dog, Callie, had been right beside me this time and I was able to grab her as they walked by. She cowered when she saw how aggressive the dog seemed. We saw them again today but this time Callie was slightly farther away and as soon as she saw another dog in the distance she wanted to go say hi. But when she got closer the dog again started to try to attack her. And the owner started kicking his feet towards my dog to try to keep her away. Once Callie realized what was really happening she kind of crouched and started walking backward away from the dog where I was able to grab her. He was repeatedly yelling at me to get my dog away.It just really upset me. Dogs are off-leash in this trail all the time and the owner was walking at a pretty busy time, during a busy season. His decision doesn't make sense to me. I understand that maybe my dog should have been on leash or closer to me for me to grab her. But this is the only dog in the entire area and on the trail that has ever reacted that way.I'm not saying the owner isn't allowed to walk his dog, but maybe at a less busy time and a less busy place. Or maybe work on socializing his dog more.Am I totally in the wrong here? It just really scared me both times it happened, and I work with dogs and they've never scared me before.Edit: Also the dog was not wearing a muzzle. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2qCAAPe
