[Help] Should I consider rescheduling my vacation because my sweet girl is in heat for the first time?

HI! My darling 9-month-old lab/pit/hound mix just started the bleeding phase of being in heat and I am scheduled to go on vacation on the 13th. This has cut down my options via boarding. I think I will be able to pay a friend to stay with her at my home but I feel bad abandoning her during this time. Is that silly? Also, before you ask...yes, she will be fixed after her first heat.
