[Help] I haven't been the best owner, what steps can I take to improve the relationship and training of my dog?

I have a 2 year old Shitzu Bichon mix, she is a stocky dog with tiny legs and kind of heavy (not fat though, her stomach is normal and the vets never said any issue). by heavy i mean she weighs 15 when she looks like she weighs 8-10.So this is the issue at the moment:-she knows no tricks, not even sit.-at night, I am forced to crate her, if she is in my bed, she will jump off the bed, pee/poo by my door, and then go back to sleep. This happens no matter the cut-off of water, and no matter how close to bed-time i take her out the last time. it will not always happen, but when it does, it happens around 2-4am so it is not an issue of me not waking up early enough-if she is left alone in a room, even for 5 minutes, there is a very strong chance she will relieve herself in that room, no barks to go out etc. (she will bark at me when she has to relieve herself and i am in the room)-she will not come when called by me, but will sometimes come when others call her. She will not stay when i say "stay" unless i say it with a very deep commanding voice, but when i do that she rolls on her back to submit to me.-She constantly prefers all my other family members over me. If i am in a room with my dad, she will jump right in his lap and cuddle him. she has never jumped in my lap, and will only occasionally sit near me.-she is often lying by the door of whatever room in the house i am in with her, like she would rather be anywhere else.now my issues:-My biggest owner issue is that I don't always give her walks, instead i chase her around my house and then let her out in my fenced backyard. she plays a bit with the family dog out there, but that one is about 14 years old and is kind of just a zombie at this point.-i am a bit rough with her. not abusive at all, but horse-play. she never gets hurt, just playful growls at me. she seems like she is fine with that kind of play-i am a heavy sleeper, so if she does try and get my attention to go out, i will not wake up. she has probably given up trying to wake me. via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2sBto3g
