[VENT] I just want my dog to shit in peace.

I got into two screaming matches tonight with a neighbor who owns 4 small dogs (which is a violation of the property's pet regulations, which state each residence can have a max of 2). She always lets all 4 of them off leash in an area that is NOT the apartment dog park (also in violation of the property's pet regulations, which they've sent two emails about in the past two months).Usually I don't care, I just scoop up Spark Pug and go back to my apartment when there are other dogs in the area we go to (rarely). But tonight when I went to check the little area we usually take him out to, her and her husband were out there with all 4 dogs, off leash. Unfortunately, one was really close to the door and I couldn't close it in time to stop one of the dogs lunging at SP...who is really weak right now since he got his last round of heartworm treatment injections last week. But my dog was my top priority, so I scooped him up and my SO and I went back to our apartment. The lady and her husband FOLLOWED US--didn't wait at all to give us time to get back to our apartment--with their pack of barking dogs (all the neighbors know when they take their dogs for a walk because their barking echoes through the halls). I made the mistake of fumbling my keys to unlock the apartment (SO was holding SP), and one of her dogs slipped it's collar and started running around us trying to get at SP. I told it to get the fuck away, and that set off all the crazy in that woman. She was like "DON'T YELL AT MY DOG," and let's just say, I was done trying to de-escalate the situation. I was already in a bad mood and I had had it. So I screamed her down (she hadn't anticipated my mouth being bigger than hers, eh), unlocked the door, and tried to calm SP down (he still needed to go, he's been having GI issues). We waited in our apartment for a few minutes for all of us to calm down, and when SP looked like he was good to go, we checked that the hallway was clear and we tried again. We're almost outside when we hear a door slam and the lady has come out to yell at us some more, so I yelled at her some more. I hate confrontations but I swear to god, she was out of her mind if she thought I wasn't going to defend my sick dog and me and my SO, who were doing everything right and had tried to get AWAY from them in the first place. And all she had was excuses for why her dogs were off leash outside ("oh everyone does it," "I have four dogs," "I've lived here for 3 years," "that's a dog area," etc.). Like how damn entitled could you get with some of those excuses??Anyway, I'm furious, but SP seems ok. We sent an email to the leasing office about the incident, but honestly, I'm just worried that she'll try to follow us when we take him out again, and I literally just want my dog to shit in peace so he doesn't experience any serious side effects from the injection. I honestly could have handled the situation better, and I regret not doing so just for the fact that now we're gonna have to be on the lookout for that psycho from now on. But I'm still puzzled as to why they followed us when all of their dogs were going crazy and when our dog was going crazy, like wtf? Did they intentionally want a dogfight?? via /r/dogs http://ift.tt/2sBYh7N
